Description:

The Jericho Road Project is a joint church initiative supporting those involved in the sex industry in Nottingham. Services offered include weekly outreaches, a drop-in, befriending, off street support, prison visiting and resettlement.
                                                    
Description of service and support

Services include:

Weekly outreaches that run 2-3 nights a week in the vice area. Volunteer teams take out drinks, food, Ugly Mugs information and provide a safe space to sit down and have a chat.

Life Centre is the name of our drop in. It provides a loving environment and hot food.  Clothes are also available and clients are able to access information, advocacy and referrals.  The Life Centre also enables women to get involved in activities, learn new skills and grow in confidence;

Project staff and volunteers work with women whilst in prison, visiting them and assisting with resettlement following release;

Visits to women working off street offering a chaplaincy service, friendship and providing luxury home baked goods. 

Befriending support to build on relationships with women and offer friendship with support to achieve particular goals.

The service is free. 5 staff are available. Office opening hours are stated but appointments can be made outside these times.

Client group: Female sex workers. We only work with those over 18.
Referral: Women can self refer and simply drop-in to our base 1-4pm Mondays and Thursdays, 7:30 to 9:30pm Wednesdays. They can also access our street outreach service whilst working or ring for more information. Workers are welcome to ring and discuss more specific referrals e.g. resettlement.
