The Women’s Complex Needs Service, based at Colville House, provides temporary supported accommodation for single homeless women from the Nottingham area with a variety of complex support needs. Residents can arrive with a wide range of issues, including physical, mental and sexual health problems, a history of drug, alcohol and sexual abuse, and a record of offending behaviour, prostitution and self harm.
Description of service and support
Three storey building constructed from brick, built approximately twenty five years ago. Downstairs are sited two staff offices, kitchen and meeting room. Colville House provides 15 units of temporary accommodation and housing support for women aged 18 years plus with complex needs. The project is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by a total of 12 staff. Each resident has their own bedroom with use of communal kitchens, toilets and lounge facilities.
Staff work to stabilise chaotic lifestyles and coordinate structured support packages that link service users with other specialist interventions and treatment. Extensive support is provided to help residents achieve independent living by developing essential skills and providing links to education, volunteering and employment options. Pets are not accepted.
After living here residents could move on to other accommodation, PRA, other supported accommodation or bidding with city council.
