Moving Forward - Acorn View and Edward Street - NCHA

Edward Street and Acorn View provide housing with support to people aged 16 and over with mental health needs.  It provides a range of support and is based at Kirkby in Ashfield.

Description of service and support

Between them Edward Street and Acorn View have 18 self contained flats with shared communal areas. There are 3 staff members who staff the service between 9:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Saturday. Cats or smaller pets are accepted.

Staff offer support to each individual, where support plans will be completed with the service user. The support plans will  look at small achievable goals to enable the service user to gain daily living skills to move on to live independently in the community. Support is also offered around education/ employment, social activities and sign posting to other agencies that service users may need to use.

Generally service users move on independent living with a referral for floating support if/as required.

What are the restrictions on guests visiting during the day? Guests are allowed to visit during the day and night and must be aware that there are other residents in the property and not cause problems for others.

Moving Forward - Acorn View / Edward Street is a service for individuals with mental health illness that require supported housing, to enable them to build on daily living skills to become independent.
To refer to Moving Forward services, a CPN, GP or psychiatrist must put the referral to the Gateway worker at Framework, who will then forward on to moving forward services.
