Disability Direct Nottingham

Disability Direct Nottingham provides information, support and welfare rights advice to disabled people, older people and carers.

Description of service and support

Services offered include:

Welfare rights advice service for people who have questions regarding disability related benefits.  Assistance can also be offered with preparing for benefit appeals and tribunals;
Direct payments and personal budget support;
Information on a range of issues including how to access grant funding, where to go to find specific adaptations and services that are available;
Opportunities to volunteer, learn new things and improve employment skills;
Support from volunteers, e.g. with gardening, getting out in the community, befriending and other activities;
Peer support groups, coffee mornings etc

There are no costs for most services.  Direct Payment Support Services are chargeable – please contact us for details as this will depend on the support you need. There are 6 paid staff + volunteers available.
