Places for People – Right Direction Independent Living Support Services

The Right Direction service supports those living with sensory and/or physical disability who can live independently but who need some assistance to manage a tenancy. 

Description of service and support

We develop a support plan that is tailored to your specific needs; support is delivered through weekly drop-in sessions, 1-2-1 support sessions, group activities and workshops and interventions including the possible use of peers and volunteers.

We can help with:
- Finding a different home
- Setting up a home (eg gas, electric & water)
- Budget planning, managing money
- Dealing with debt including rent arrears
- Accessing specialist services (eg medical, counsellors etc)
- Filling in forms, claiming benefits
- Access to education, training & employment
- Support in adapting your home
- Support with medication management
- Support in accessing immigration services
- Managing disclosure and stigma
- Managing the implications of diagnosis
