The Albion - Framework HA

The New Albion provides 24 units of high quality, safe temporary accommodation for single and homeless couples who are assessed as being in priority need by Nottingham City Council. Residents are housed in individual, self-contained flats and the building is managed 24hours a day. Staff provide life skills training, including budgeting, cooking, meaningful occupation, employment and training. Support is provided with resettlement and referral to tenancy sustainment services. The length of stay varies depending on whether residents are re-housed into supported accommodation or their own tenancy.  

Description of service and support
3 storey building with 24 self contained units . Residents have access through their own stairwell from the main street / front door . The accommodation has controlled access for safety. There are 13 members of staff and the Albion is staffed 24hours/day. 

Residents have regular support sessions with Support Planner / Support Worker, this includes agreeing weekly goals / establishing support network, sign posting to specialist agencies in relation to identified support needs, discussing move on options & support required. The support planner will create move on plan.  Skills 4 Independence sessions run weekly in the service and there is support with education / training  employment needs. Risk management strategy put in place.

Pets may be accepted, clients must inform at point of presenting at Nottingham City Council - maximum of 2 pets to be housed in the service at any one time - Pet agreement to be signed and adhered too.

Likely next step will be to supported housing, more specialist accommodation or move in to Local Authority Housing / Private rented accommodation

House rules

Can you smoke in own room? Yes only in rooms – smoking not permitted anywhere else on FHA premises.
What are the restrictions on guests visiting during the day? 2 Visitors per room, 16 years + permitted at any one time during 9am-11pm, photo ID for all visitors - No overnight visitors within the first week of move in. All visitors to be signed in at the main office.
What are the restrictions on overnight guests? Yes – 1 overnight guest per week over the age of 16 – Service Manager will complete relevant checks for 16-18 yr. old visitors, Visitors to be booked in at the staff office before 9.00pm – Photo ID to be taken.
What support must clients engage with? Engage in support sessions with Support Planner working on Individual Support Plan and Support Worker completing targets  in relation to their support needs - engage in Skills 4 Independence Programme, attend monthly resident meetings with SEA present- provide all necessary paperwork for Housing Benefit.
Please detail any other significant house rules: No alcohol permitted on the premises/ to be consumed by residents / visitors under the age of 18yrs.
Residents are responsible for their visitors to the service – Visitors are not to be left unattended in the building.
Residents are permitted a maximum of 2 nights stay out per week.
No drugs permitted on the premises.
Service will not tolerate violence / harassment of any form.
No children under the age of 16 yrs. permitted to visit the service.
