Briarwood Court - Metropolitan

Briarwood court is a supported living service for adults with a moderate to severe learning disability. The aim of the service is to maximise independent living skills, with the long term plan of moving into the community independently.

Description of service and support

Briarwood Court is situated in the Sherwood area of the city within easy access to local shops and services. It accommodates 11 service users and consists of a four bedroom house and seven self-contained single flats, with white goods provided. There is a communal washing machine and tumble drier. Negotiation with housing provider may be possible in relation to pets.

The service offers assessed hours of support for individuals. We work with CLDTs to assess need, implement support and measure outcomes. Briarwood is staffed 24 hrs a day throughout the year. All individuals have personalised support packages to increase independence within the home and the wider community.

Briarwood is funded through Nottingham City council and packages are assessed on an individual basis. Service users have regular reviews within the service and with local CLDTs who will re-assess need.
